About

A better corner of the internet for talking with strangers.

theChatStage was built on a simple bet: that most people, given a decent interface and a bit of accountability, are fascinating to talk to. We remove the trolls, show the good ones, and let the rest happen.

Why theChatStage exists

Random-chat sites from the 2010s cratered under spam, exhibitionists, and zero moderation. Social media replaced them with algorithmic outrage. Neither is good for meeting real people. theChatStage is our attempt at a third option — structured enough to stay civil, loose enough to feel spontaneous.

How we keep it safe

  • Email verification required before chat.
  • Users rate each other after every session — reputation is public after three ratings.
  • Report abuse button on every chat and debate. Admins review full conversation snapshots.
  • Three-strike block system — third strike is a permanent ban.

What theChatStage is not

  • Not a dating app. No swipes, no matches based on attraction.
  • Not a video platform. Text, voice notes, and images only.
  • Not a social feed. Conversations are real-time and mostly ephemeral.
